On delivery before signing the proof of delivery notes, please check the pallet is not damaged and has no items missing. If you notice any damaged or missing goods, inform the driver and mark the proof of the delivery notes as damaged. If you do need to make a claim for lost or damaged goods you must inform Pallet Delivery by email within 7 days of the delivery date.

Please also include the following:

  • Photos of the damaged pallet

  • Details of any salvage

  • Proof of retail price of the damaged or missing items

  • Proof of weight of the damaged or missing items

Important Information

  • You can only claim for the cost price of the damaged or missing items and not for any incidental costs.

  • Do not dispose of damaged goods as they will be needed to process the claim.

  • Goods are covered up to a maximum of £5000 per tonne i.e. £5.00 per kg - For example if your pallet weighs 400kg, it will be covered up to £2000.

  • When you have notified Pallet Delivery of your intention to make a claim, you will be sent a claim form to complete and a list of the relevant information that will be required to process your claim.

  • You must notify us if you require our higher level of insurance prior to booking a collection. Our higher level of insurance is £10000 per tonne and can be added to your order for just £5.00. For example if your goods weighed 250kg, with our higher insurance cover the maximum value the goods would be covered by is £2500

  • Important – Making a false claim is illegal. An incorrect claim could result in a claim being rejected in total. A claim can only be made for the goods and not for any incidental costs. Do not dispose of damaged goods as they will be needed to process the claim.
